What is Universal Astrology and
Why Should You Care?

FIRST OF ALL: It is a teaching approach that has already been proven effective to advanced or totally beginning students - of Astrology or anything else. Essentially in "Universal Astrology" we start learning universal principles that are common to all healing systems. Then we return to the seminal Vedic Astrology texts for their application in Astrology. In this approach astrology itself is redfined as "The Study of the Divine Universe that Creates Beings and Experiences". To some this sounds fatalistic, but it is not. One of the most powerful experiences is called "Freewill" - the course of individual action.

Last year I began to teach Universal Astrology. After years of practicing astrology and teaching, I was inspired to systematize this approach. I have always viewed astrology from this perspective, and have always felt a certain disconnect from the way i have heard astrology discussed and taught.

Important Points and Distinctions
in Universal Astrology

Universal Principles and positions such as Body/Mind/Spirit - yin/yang - 5 elements - 4 Directions - Modalities - Astronomical Truths - Absolute Positions in Space/Time are more important than specific (and often bewildering) calculations from any system. The reason *ALL ASTROLOGY SYSTEMS WORK* is because of these Universal factors - those things that are bigger than any System. It is also why studying and understanding Universal Astrology will also deepen your understanding of all astrology systems and (on a karmic level) any and all holistic healing systems.

Astrologers Can  Deepen  the  Disconnect   

Once we view Astrology as "The Study of the Divine Universe that Creates Beings and Experiences", an inner shift happens. We often hear astrology referred to as a "language" or a kind of "Soul mapping", etc.. These explanations are not necessarily innacurate - but they are limited. In this model, we (human beings) are the masters as we have invented the language and the map. We hear it said all the time by astrologers, "human beings invented astrology". I would say this.. "Human beings invented Astrology *SYSTEMS* not astrology". (and have a lot of their ego wrapped up in those systems). Astrology (As defined on Universal Astrology terms) existed long before human beings we're here to "invent it", and will exist long after we are gone.
The glorification of techniques and systems over Divine energies has a lot to do with the fall from grace I see in the Astrology world today. (I see this as analgous to people placing more emphasis on their religion and forgetting the goal, spiritual awakening) This failed approach generally reduces astrology to something outside of ourselves that we need to control / overcome or else it will overcome us.

I hear this type of limiting language used often. This approach to astrology and the astrologers who work that way (which frankly, are most) reinforces the false choice of "inner and outer" onto their client. Because after all (it is said) "There is YOU and your astrology chart". From this initial false choice, many other false choices follow. Karma vs Freewill - Good period vs Bad period. "Astrology" is many times viewed as the things we must overcome - rather than relax into through fullness. In their limited view, astrology shows the oppressive forces we must battle, rather than as offering us a glimpse into the dignified role we have in this Divine play, the promises we are here to fulfill and the role astrology plays is better defining that role. Unfortunately, the limited view of the astrologer gets transferred to the client and the general feeling is that of astrology being one more thing that is separate from us. The ego (separate self) becomes strengthened by this false choice.

Your Place in An Intelligent, 
Benevolent Universe

In Universal Astrology we see that all forces of the Universe are benevolent and divine -leading us to greater wisdom and insight. The only reason we perceive certain expereinces as "Bad" is because that Planetary/Universal force within us is compromised by certain factors. This perspective is not a way to sprinkle New Age fairy dust on people. It is a world view rooted in the understanding that we are guided internally and externally by a caring and loving universe. In fact we realize that we ARE the universe, once we awaken to full consciousness. Until that time, we struggle much like a child struggles, due to a false perception of limitation and ignorance of Self. Yet we are always protected and guided lovingly by the universe, whether we know it or not.

The Universe does not make mistakes and it is a testimonial to human arrogance to think otherwise. The things that feel unpleasant due to our ignorance, are what test and strengthen us. The dignified view presented through Universal Astrology never loses sight of the cosmic genius unfolding through us every moment. Once we know the evolutionary process (called "Anchoring Process" in Universal Astrology) we need only reconnect to that process to taste the divine sweetness that once seemed like a bitter swill. The inner and outer are one creating the other. To struggle against and judge our Divine Mother (the Universe) is the real reason we suffer and our greatest undoing.

By using the specific methods of Universal Astrology (Anchoring Principles, Anchoring Techniques, Anchoring Process, Anchoring Conditions and Anchoring Moments) we can assess how our limited self is darkening / afflicting the divine energy within us and then reorient our intention toward the divine goal. Anything less is an abomination of spirit.

Universal Astrology honors a Scientific approach to AstroSpirituality in the same tradition as Yoga, Vedanta and other Eastern, Mystical Sciences. Accepting the Universe as the divine being does not reduce Astrology to a religion. It elevates the Science to its proper place as the "Creatrix" of everything (including the freewill/karma cycle).

After all, everything that happens, will happen or has happened will take place in the Universe - The Divine Entity That Creates Beings and Experiences.

CERTIFICATION

At the end of the "Level2 Vedic Class" (If the Student is interested and has also taken Universal Astrology level 1 and level 2) a path to Cerification will be offered.

There will be three comprehensive tests that covers all four modules:
Universal Astrology 1 and 2
Universal Vedic Astrology 1 and 2.

The first test will be a written exam - with a three hour time limit (Prearranged).

The second test will be a 60 minute private Q & A with Sam. 
The third test will have the student do a 45 minute chart reading (taped).

If the student passes these tests with a score of 80 or higher, they will receive the Associate of Arts in Vedic Astrology from the Universal Astrology Institute. 

The Fee for Certification Testing / time involved for Sam to oversee it, will be $195.00 

Upon completing the Associate of Arts Degree the student may pursue the Bachelor of Arts course - a more advanced course of study that will be offered in the future.
